Stop Bill 45 from Banning Vaporizers

The Healthier Choices Act, which inexplicably bans vaporizers/e-cigarettes has been sent to Committee. Here's my question to the Minister responsible today - it's clear the Liberals just don't get it. Click here to Learn how you can be heard: http://www.randyhilliermpp.com/stop_bill_45

Freedom of Choice

Once again this Liberal Government is restricting your freedom to make healthy choices for yourself. Disguising it as the “Making Healthy Choices Act”, Schedule 3 of this Act will in fact drive people away from healthier choices and back to tobacco.

Many thousands of people have successfully quit smoking thanks to vaporizers, or “e-cigs” as they are sometimes called. Between 95 and 99% cleaner than cigarettes, there is no scientific or medical evidence that suggests vaporizers cause inhalable exposure to contaminants or warrant any health concerns - yet this government would like to regulate them as they do with tobacco and alcohol.

I’ve smoked for about 30 years. My heart is about toast now , I have chf, Cardiomyopithy. And other health issues .Vaping helped me quit smoking about a year ago. I feel better than I have in years , taking Vaping away can change all of that. I would like to be around for all my children to grow up. And see all my grandkids. Vaping saved my life. Don’t take that away from us . curt c hall

I’ve just started vaping, and truly feel this could be the way for me to quit smoking after 35 years. Why ban something that seems to be working for so many? Perhaps the potential for lost tax dollars is the motivation for the ban?

Please don’t ban something that there is not a lot of hard factual research done. Please before decisions or laws are passed become educated on the benefits of vaping. It is not smoking. It is a less harmfull alternative to smoking cigarettes. I know taxation and money is being lost because we are not buying cigarettes. But let us as voters decide what we want. Please do not force us back to smoking.
