Letter to Attorney General Gerretsen regarding BSL

In this letter to Attorney General Gerretsen, Randy Hillier, MPP for Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox and Addington, enquires why the government has made no effort to repeal Ontario's failed breed specific legislation.

    Thank you so much Mr. Hillier. I don’t know how this law managed to be passed in the first place. I own a Doberman Pinscher myself which is considered to be an aggressive breed and if people would just spend time with these “dangerous” breeds they would understand that they only look the part. My dog wouldn’t hurt a fly! And besides this BSL doesn’t even really define a pit bull. I’ve seen plenty of bull dog mixes and boxer mixes, even Labradorixes that resemble pitbulls an simply by resembling a pit bull type, thy could be seized an slain. Horrible. I hope the government learns to listen to the people and realizes how truly ridiculous this is and starts, like you said, to punish irrepaonsible dog owners who shouldn’t own ANY breed of dog.
